Pacific Skyways School of Paragliding offers beginner paragliding lessons, full P2 solo pilot certification courses, advanced skill clinics for experienced pilots, and adventure tandem flights.
Our instructors are United States Hang gliding Association (USHGA) certified. We are active pilots who fly often, compete internationally, and keep our flying and teaching skills honed.
Pacific Skyways is the best way to Paraglide in San Francisco.
If you want to learn to paraglide, join us for an introductory class or take a tandem flight with our USHGA certified tandem pilots.
We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area and teach right near San Francisco and in the South Bay. Our training sites are convenient for students from San Francisco, Palo Alto, Oakland, Berkeley, San Jose and all Bay Area communities.
Paragliding is a free flight sport. Paraglider pilots use ram-air gliders to fly quietly and unencumbered. We soar coastal ridges, mountains, and travel distances utilizing the same thermals as hawks and eagles.
Paragliding offers beautiful views, challenge and excitement. And it's a whole lot of fun.
If you want the fun of a flight without learning to paraglide, you can fly double (tandem) with a Pacific Skyways tandem instructor. The instructor will launch, fly, and land the paraglider while you sit in front with the best views.
Hang gliding is also a free flight sport but hang gliders have rigid frames which take time to assemble and disassemble. Hang gliders are more difficult to store and generally require a car to carry.
Paragliders have no rigid frame and pack up into backpacks. They can be easily stored in small spaces, carried to the top of hills on hiking trails, and checked as baggage on airplanes.
Paragliding is easier to learn than hang gliding and much more convenient.
Pacific Skyways sells paragliders, harnesses, helmets, reserve parachutes and other paragliding accessories. We are the Bay Area's exclusive dealers of Gin paragliders.
Pacific Skyways is part of a network of sister schools including: SuperFly, Inc. in Salt Lake City Utah, Peak-To-Peak Paragliding in Boulder Colorado, Bozeman Paragliding in Bozeman Montana, O'Connor Flight School in the California Central Valley, and Seattle Paragliding.
